The purpose of the course is to build your understanding of, and confidence in, the process of dying, and increase your ability to be with it. There is an emphasis on developing the human skills and introducing an integrated model of practical, psychological and spiritual support for the person who is dying, and their family. Participants can take the 5-day Foundation as a stand alone course or build towards a Volunteer Certificate, or Diploma.

Those drawn to train may include lay people who want to support friends, family or colleagues or have a special feeling for being with the dying; or health professionals, therapists, clergy or care staff, who want to develop skills in end of life support. Participants say:

"From the first session on the first day I was reassured that this course mattered, was all I had hoped for and would take me where I wanted to go..."

"Excellent, exquisite"

"It was varied and brilliant"

"Thank you, this is very inspiring"
